Learn how our ethics, rituals and traditions are also contracting Covid-19

There is no doubt about it, we, the human race, are social creatures. We have traditions, rituals and ethics that we follow and that we have learned and transferred from one generation to another, we have built systems and codes of conduct based on our different cultures, religions and beliefs. These are the base of our systems, and they are under threat because of Covid-19.
We fell asleep in one world and woke up in a different one. We woke up in a world where social distancing is a must for our preservation, we've seen cute little kids in China wearing mandatory one meter "winged hats" back to school, to ensure social distancing, lately images and videos of a protective hugging suit went viral, to provide human contact all the while respecting the protection measures, we even saw the simplest of all, masks with drawings and messages expressing our most inner deep and private feelings of love and need for others. These act of adaptation show how resilient we are as a human race, but they also show how rooted these rituals and traditions are.
Eid al-Fitr is around the corner, the end of the holy month of Ramadan, an official holiday all around the Arab world, a time of joy and celebration but will it be as joyful this year? Most governments are imposing tougher lockdown measures, tighter curfews, authority's main concern is to curb Covid-19 spread by trying to keep us socially distant, and therefore Islamic leaders worldwide are urging prayers and celebrations at home.
During this quarantine, I had the unfortunate duty of delivering bad news to a friend, the dear person in question fell apart and started crying, instinctively, I was about to give them a comforting hug, isn't this what we do best when someone is broken-hearted?
Covid-19 decided this is the end of affectionate contact even in times of need.
It has actually forcefully, made us change behavior not only with our natural human reaction but also in our ethic systems built over years of trial and errors. Did you know that the doctor- patient confidentiality has been breached because of Covid-19? Many countries around the world issued laws under the urgency of the matter, breaching one of the most sacred vows a doctor makes, the secrecy and privacy of their patients. Today and due to the CoronaVirus Pandemic, doctors are obligated to report their patients to their governments, not only if they tested positive but also if they have been in contact with a Covid-19 patient, governments need to report patients to international public health organizations like WHO. Furthermore, treatment is becoming mandatory! Since Covid-19 was quickly declared a pandemic, due to its dangerous repercussions and fast spread around the world, some countries have now regulations that hold patients legally responsible, and might force a treatment for Covid-19 on them, the laws even go beyond, and will force any future vaccine on the population. Covid-19 stole our free will in choosing palliative care, our freedom of choice at our darkest hour!
Hate the game not the players, whether it's tough curfews, lockdowns or in-shelter prayers on Eid-al-Fitr, breaching of Doctor-Patient confidentiality, or imposed treatments and vaccines. The "players" are trying to protect humanity from the "game" and the more pressure we are under, the more creative we are getting! Building new systems of contact and communication will be a piece of cake! We already touch elbows to salute each other!
